Treatment Options

Orthodontics is a field that utilizes many different treatment methods to meet the unique needs of each individual. By utilizing new technology, we are able to offer treatment options that are faster, more comfortable, and more effective. Depending on the patient case, some or all of these may be possible treatment options.

Early Treatment

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that every child receives an orthodontic evaluation by the age of 7. Although most children have few adult teeth at this age, there are many serious orthodontic issues that can be prevented or resolved through early treatment. Treatment around this age is usually focused on encouraging proper jaw growth and preventing traumatic injuries to the teeth. If your child does not require treatment at this time, we may recommend regular check ups to monitor the growth and development of the adult teeth.

Traditional And Clear Braces

Traditional (and clear) braces are the tried and true method for straightening teeth and correcting bites. Braces are adjusted at each visit to move teeth into the proper positions. This is an excellent treatment option for most teens and adults who do not want the hassle of wearing aligners. We may recommend traditional braces over other options for more complex cases.

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are the best option for patients looking to straighten their teeth without requiring traditional braces. Through many years of research and advancement, clear aligners have become a great treatment option for many patients looking for a more aesthetic option to achieve their smile goals. Clear aligners are a more comfortable and convenient option for teens and adults with busy lifestyles. We may recommend clear aligner treatment over other options for more minor cases.

Retainers

Retainers are an important part of maintaining a beautiful smile. Though they will not always be a daily requirement, continuing to wear retainers regularly will prevent shifting of teeth. We offer different retainer options (including fixed retainers, traditional Hawley retainers, clear Essix retainers, night guards, etc) to meet the needs of each individual patient. If you have misplaced or broken retainers, please contact us ASAP to have them replaced.
